Abstract: . . . students wishing to focus on a particular subject area have the option of receiving a certificate of specialization in conjunction with a Residential degree. The certificate is a recognition of intensive study in a transpersonal subject area. Students pursuing specialization in the Residential Programs should pay particular attention to the quarterly schedule of classes. License The Psychology License is the highest non- medical mental health practitioner license available in the State of California. To apply for a pre-doctoral internship, a stu- dent must have completed a minimum of 72 quarter hours of BOP eligible psychology course work. The current Ph.D. curriculum makes possible the completion of this course work within the first three years of the pro- gram. A detailed booklet on both academic and internship requirements, as well as the course sequence at the Institute designed to meet those requirements, is available from the Clinical Coordinator. A doctorate is required to apply for the Psychology License. The BOP requires course work in a variety of clinical areas in prepara- tion for the psychology examination. Completion of the Ph.D. in Transpersonal Clinical Psychology will cover all of these required areas of study. Completion of any course work or degree does not guarantee licensure.
