Professor Bar- On also received the BundesVerdienstKreutz (Cross of Merit) from the German Government in December 2001 for his research in Germany (interviewing the descendants of Nazi perpetrators) and bringing them together with descendants of Holocaust survivors (the TRT group - To Reflect and Trust). Carole A. Rayburn was the recipient for the 2001 William C. Bier Award of the American Psychological Association Division on the Psychology of Religion. The Award was for international publication integrating psychology of religion with other fields of study, such as sociology and anthropology. Along with Dr. Lee J. Richmond, Dr. Rayburn has proposed a new theory, discipline, and field, “theobiology,” that involves the interface of theology, religion and spirituality with psychology , philosophy, biology, anthropology, physics, chemistry, and other sciences for deeper understanding of the divine and the world.
