Preparation of aphasia studies in all languages including Dutch will require more time due to the necessity of proper subject identification. All aphasia projects will start at the end of the first year. Knowledge Transfer The proposed projects will involve extensive traveling to Italy and Russia for 2 or three participants for the period from 2 to 4 weeks. These trips will be required for finalizing experimental stimuli, participation in actual testing and (if necessary) modifications of experimental procedures depending on pilot . . . . . . of research will provide a more detailed picture of the brain and language with respect to linguistic development and disruption. Organisation Projects All four projects will be conducted with children and agrammatic Broca’s aphasics in Dutch, Russian and Italian. The cross-linguistic nature of the proposal makes it desirable that participants have a certain familiarity with the languages under investigation, although data collection will be conducted by local researchers (native speakers.)
