Rayburn was the recipient for the 2001 William C. Bier Award of the American Psychological Association Division on the Psychology of Religion. The Award was for international publication integrating psychology of religion with other fields of study, such as sociology and anthropology. Along with Dr. Lee J. Richmond, Dr. Rayburn has proposed a new theory, discipline, and field, theobiology, that involves the interface of theology, religion and spirituality with psychology , philosophy, biology, anthropology, . . . . . .
